Industrial Ventilation

Focus on sustainability and minimal environmental impact

Industrial ventilation and extraction helps create a healthy working environment

Get a custom-designed and complete industrial ventilation solution

Does your company experience problems from a poorly ventilated indoor climate in the production hall or workshop? Dust particles, smoke, oil mist, gases and fumes are often an unavoidable part of the workplace for industrial companies operating in, for example, the metals or minerals industries.

An advanced industrial ventilation system is needed to remove these air pollutants, which come from various operations, such as grinding, cutting, heating, milling, etc. This creates a healthy and comfortable working environment for employees, as well as a number of other benefits, which you can read about further down the page.

Choose Technor as your industrial ventilation system supplier

The benefits of industrial ventilation

Industrial ventilation systems have a crucial function in many workplaces where there is a need to direct pollutant particles from work processes away from the production hall or workshop. There are many benefits to such a system, the most important of which is ensuring a healthy and pleasant working environment for employees. The pollution from work processes can be harmful to the health of employees, who may become ill or uncomfortable from being in such an environment. Industrial ventilation or process extraction alleviates this problem, allowing employees to stay safely at work.

Furthermore, industrial ventilation can minimise the risk of an explosive atmosphere (ATEX) occurring and limit the damage from an explosion, which is likely to occur in many industrial companies that process metal, wood, composite and other materials. The particles from these processes are removed by mechanical extraction, which purifies the air and removes the risk of explosion. This process also includes filtration, which is an important part of the system. The filter collects gases, vapours, oil mists, dust, etc., and prevents the particles from being thrown into the open air, causing harm to the environment. In this way, the company can continue to produce its products without worrying about pollution of the local environment. Another advantage of installing industrial ventilation is that it is energy efficient and uses special techniques to exploit energy wastage - read more about this in the section below.

How does an industrial ventilation system work?

An industrial ventilation system works differently depending on whether your company needs extraction directly from the source of contamination, such as heavy fumes, or a particular machine that produces a lot of residual waste, or whether you need general room ventilation, which is best suited to lighter contamination.

Industrial ventilation with extraction directly at the source often has powerful extraction, and this type can best be described as a large-scale vacuum cleaner. A large system is needed to be able to quickly extract the large amounts of pollution often released in this type of work. A room ventilation system, on the other hand, has low-powered extraction but can filter larger amounts of air at a time. This system is similar to a macro-extractor, providing good air exchange and pollution removal.

Both systems work by effectively extracting the residues from the work processes. The extracted air then hits a filter, which cleans the air of both large and small particles. What is done with the residue depends on which industry it comes from. For example, shavings and chips end up in a shavings container or silo. The filtered, clean air is then discharged into the atmosphere via upward air discharge.

The extracted, filtered air is often hot, in which case ventilation units allow the heat in the exhaust air to be recycled, minimising energy waste. This is made possible by heat exchangers, which transfer energy from the exhaust air to the supply air. We always use high-quality ventilation units that are Ecodesign approved.

Finally, service and maintenance are an essential part of Technor and our services. While our ventilation systems are always set up with minimal maintenance and optimal operation, ongoing servicing is vital to ensure the system continues to be efficient and work as it should. That is why we also offer to service systems that are not installed by us - read more about servicing.
